More malicious apps found on Android, may hit over 550,000 devices
January 16, 2020
The news of malicious attack on Android is very often. Even recently we got a news for 30 malicious photo editing apps that have been attacking users for stealing personal information like payments and accounts etc. Now researchers have found some new adwares (ad showing apps) that are still available free on Google Play for download.
Well, these apps are not doing anything like stealing information or something. In fact they act very normal that even they can pass the Google malicious detection. However, the security company Bitdefender who brought the fact in front of us, said that these apps have been downloaded more than 550,000 times on Android and still available on users phone.
According to the company, these apps are basically car racing games, QR ode scanner, barcode scanner, weather apps and wallpaper apps. These apps aren’t stealing any sensitive information, instead they are showing frequent and inappropriate pop-up ads everywhere. Since they are not any malware but these apps can easily alter users and can download malicious apps on background, researchers warn. Since they can affect the users badly, we strongly recommend to uninstall these apps quickly.
