Poco X2 launched in India; starting from Rs 15,999

The long anticipated next Pocophone is now out for fans. Xiaomi India just launched their next Pocophone about an hour ago. Already it started to being discussed among customers. But before we start the specifications, let’s first know something. Mr. C. Manmohan, GM of Poco India has made it clear that this new Poco is not a successor of Poco F1. Instead they have launched a new Poco lineup under X series.

Let’s first look at the specifications once.

The new Poco X2 is a mid-range powerful phone that has higher performance and aspects. When you’ll look at the screen, the first thing you’ll notice is a big hole-punch on the right side of the screen. Two cameras will also be visible there. Now the thing that will touch you would have to be the 120Hz smooth panel. The display is IPS type LCD display with full HD+ resolution. It has 20:9 aspect ratio for better view angel.

The Poco X2 features four different types of cameras on on the back for different purposes. The main primary sensor is offered by Sony. Like the previous Poco, the company retained the Sony sensor for better output here. The camera module is equipped with main 64 MP Sony IMX686 sensor, 8 MP ultra-wide lens, a 2 MP portrait sensor for bokeh mode and a 2 MP sensor for 2 cm close and clear macro shots. There is also a duel-tone rear flash available on the back. Like the rear setup Poco offered a camera module on the front. Module because it contains two camera sensors. A 20 MP traditional Xiaomi selfie sensor and a 2 MP bokeh sensor. The main back panel comes with a beautiful ergonomic design which has an unique look to spot. The circular gloss around the camera module. The Poco X2 has three beautiful looking colors. The Atlantis Blue, Matrix Purple and a gorgeous Phoenix Red.

Now where the performance comes, Poco has been competing against the strict competitors since the F1 arrived. Since the new Poco X2 is not a successor of Poco F1 it is not a typical flagship anyways. But neither it has low performance score or has any hardware limitations. The Poco X2 runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G octa-core chipset at 2.2 Ghz clock speed. The gaming on X2 should be smooth too. Because the graphics is backed by Adreno 618 GPU. The storage offered is also pretty fast, not the best but can run everything on ease when you throw on it. It features 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM that goes upto 8GB and has UFS 2.1 type storage from 64GB to 256GB. The physical memory is expandable type and can be expanded upto 512GB by a hybrid slot. Again, the legacy retained.

On the connectivity section, X2 features Bluetooth 5.0 technology. Has support for VoLTE, LTE and VoWIFI. The physical fingerprint sensor has moved to the right side. Anyhow, the Poco X2 now comes with bigger 4500mAh high capacity battery and has native support for 27 watt super fast charging. The good thing is company is offering the 27 watt charger and cable in the box. The phone has an ideal SAR value too, head – 1.080W/kg, body – 0.620W/kg. It’s 208 grams heavy and thats huge.

The Poco X2 will go on sale from 11th February on Flipkart. The base model of Poco X2 starts from Rs 15,999 for 6+64 GB model. It goes higher upto 8+256GB variant. The 6+128GB model is priced at Rs 16,999 and the highest 8+256GB storage model is priced at Rs 19,999.

After all the Poco X2 is a rebranded model of Redmi K30, launched in China a few weeks ago. Now what company declared it seems like the mid-powerful phone under Redmi K series would launch as Poco X series in India. Company has not confirmed it yet. Well, all we have to wait and see what happens.
